Good evening Parents-

Tomorrow, July 2nd by 9pm is the deadline to declare for Wednesday’s Meet vs. Kentlands (July 5th). On Monday, July 3rd by 9pm declaration for Relays is due. This is for Swim Team only (no preteam, sorry!). Relay lineups are due a little earlier than normal meets so it’s important we have your declaration for both days in order to determine the lineup. If you need assistance with declaring your swimmer, please contact us asap. For those of you who are new to swim team, here is a little information on Relay Carnival.

This meet is one of the most fun meets of the season. Every race is swum in relay style. There are 22 relay races swum. Most of the races require 4 swimmers to a relay and most of the relays are swum by age group with the exception of a couple of relays where different age groups are needed. For example- There is a 100m Girls 9-10 freestyle relay, there is a 100m mixed 9-10 relay(boys and girls) and there is 100m Boys 9-10 freestyle relay. There is also a relay where 1 swimmer per age group is required. We are in need of ALL available swimmers. Without the required number of swimmers a relay can’t be swum. This is where we need your help. We are asking ALL families to please check your calendars. If your swimmer is available to swim next Sunday, please sign them up! We have several age groups with only 4-5 swimmers, so having someone not available could mean a relay can’t be swum and some kids can’t swim. However, we also ask that if you commit, you show up. We’ve had last minute scratches the past few meets and this affects our entire team. There are rules and regulations about swimmer substitutions when the scratches come in so late. This is also another opportunity for our Team to get points in our Division.
